So it’s no secret that I’ve locked myself away to play Metal Gear Solid V. Today I broke for some fresh air, a much-needed split from the Xbox One. I blindingly block the sun from my blood-shot eyes to view the crisp new world that is Tuesday. Breathing new air, I quickly jump to my phone and check what this week’s new releases are, and deals that the Xbox has in store… Not that I need any more games clogging up my library right now.

New Releases – Sept 8
Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is a 2-player co-op micro-platformer set inside a neon spaceship locked in battle with hordes of space baddies. Players work together running back and forth between ship control rooms, manning turrets, lasers, shields and thrusters to rack up points and stave off a vacuumy demise. In mish-mash terms you could describe it as Jumpman meets Asteroids meets Han saying “Don’t get cocky.”

Konami Issues a MGS V Save Corruption Warning Konami revealed today that there is a risk that your game save file can be corrupted and unusable if you bring Quiet as a buddy on Mission 29 or Mission 42. The issue affects the game on all platforms and a fix is being worked on. (Luckily I am not there yet in the game’s story… phew)
Destiny: The Taken King’s Official Cinematic Trailer
The game’s release is next week, Sept 15th, 2015. This weekend Destiny will be showcasing its two new multiplayer Crucible modes for free, with 1.0 character and powers, as an exclusive look before the Taken King’s launch.
After a fun jaunt down to Seattle, it’s now back to reality and all things video game. Gears Of War Ultimate Edition arrived in the mail yesterday, as did the Day One edition of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain – very excited to try these. I’ll be jumping right into MGS V so expect my impressions throughout the week.
I have lots of news to catch up on, I apologize as some might be older, and new games, deals, etc. Lets go!

EA Access Backwards Compatibility
EA said that it is investigating adding backwards compatible EA games to the EA Access in the future. November at the earliest when the Backwards Compatibility will launch.

Mad Max (Xbox One, PS4, PC) – I got hand’s on with Mad Max over the weekend, and it felt really cool to play. Driving and melee feel really good, and the game looks gorgeous. I had some reservation during my time with it, but only a proper play through will due for my proper opinion.
IGN posted a cool time lapse of the two-hour day and night cycle:
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (Xbox One, PS4, PC) – This is my go to game for the next week. I briefly started it last night, so expect opinions daily into next week. I’m super stoked.
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC) – I played this game back on the Xbox 360 and thought it was a lot of fun. A quite somber tale of two brothers and their messed up world. Sad and tragic, but vast and beautiful. This looks to be the next-gen release of it.
Until Dawn (PS4) – Playstation’s big notable horror game. i don’t really know anything about it though as I’m not a PS gamer. Getting very good reviews.
Dishonored: Definitive Edition (PS4, Xbox One) – Unnecessary HD remaster of one of last gen’s great games. My original review: here.
Mega Man Legacy Collection (Xbox One, PS4, PC) – Reproduction of the classic series original six titles.
The Deer God (Xbox One, PC) – Xbox’s Free game of the month for September. I got it last night and will be including my impressions when I get to it. The title looks very cool, as an indie platformer, and not of the typical shooting variety.
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition (Xbox One) – Yep. Full remastering of the classic original on the Xbox 360. The game that sold consoles. This edition includes all the multiplayer maps and skins and DLC and the Window’s exclusive story chapters. Excited isn’t sufficient. This game is a game-night staple.
Phew. Well that’s all for tonight. More tomorrow as I continue to go through MGS V and leave my impressions from PAX Prime 2015 and Gears of War this weekend.
So this week I’ll be just rattling off a few things as I prep for my trip down to Seattle for PAX Prime 2015. As I mentioned on Sunday, I’m not sure what my internet connection will be like so I don’t know if I’ll be posting a daily update or not, but expect a full report when I return.
Today I’ll discuss the new games and deal, and the news. I’ll have a review for Far Cry 4 up before I leave, and some discussions on what I’ll be playing next.
Dirt Rally Gets Multiplayer
One of my favourite racing games have been the Dirt series by Codemasters. They’re currently working on the pivotal rally game in Dirt Rally, currently only available on the PC through Steam Early Access. Good and bad I suppose. Good in that they’re funding the game as they go along, working out all the bugs before they release it on the consoles. BAD, in that I can’t play it yet. With Xbox’s Game Preview, maybe they can work something out.
Codemasters has recently added rallycross mode which is their head-to-head multiplayer mode. The free update also includes 3 new cars and a new map set in Hell, Sweden.
Master Chief’s Face 343 Industries has confirmed that that Master Chief’s face will not be revealed in Halo 5: Guardians. Only Bungie knows that little secret anyways ;).
NHL 16’s GM Mode
Recently revealed in the latest NHL 16 video was the game’s bolstered GM mode, and how to help shape the future of your favourite franchise by handling teammate relationships and morale.
September’s Games With Gold Microsoft has revealed its monthly Games With Gold free games for September:

I’m gonna go listen to Rick and Morty’s DOTA 2 Announcer lines now, having never played or watched the game.
A very nostalgic trailer highlighting the earlier entries in the franchise. Considering this is the last trailer he’ll ever help produce for the series he birthed, it’s pretty understandable.
